Ahead of the new Bundesliga season, Bayer Leverkusen have signed 22 year-old Nadiem Amiri from Hoffenheim, as reported at the Bundesliga website.
Leverkusen Sporting Director, Simon Rolfes believed that the young midfielder’s agility and determination, plus his experience playing alongside Karem Demirbay, Jonathan Tah, Mitchell Weiser and Kevin Volland would make him fit for the job.
Amiri saw action in the recent European Under 21 Championship in Italy where he scored thrice for Germany, two during the last four round, and once in the final where they lost to Spain.
The youngster was sidelined most of the first half last season due to injury. However his stellar performance in the European U21’s was enough to convince Leverkusen to make a move for the midfielder. He had made 13 appearances in the Bundesliga last season.
