Chelsea FC have signed the 20-year-old Mason Mount for a five year contract and expects him to be with the club until 2024.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Mount is the latest youngster inked by the Blues after the appointment of Frank Lampard as its new boss. Lampard replaced Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea’s head coach. The young midfielder played extremely well under Lampard during a loan at Derby County FC last season.

The England Under 21 international was on loan last season and following Lampard’s return to Stamford Bridge, Mount and several academy prospects have committed themselves to the Premier League club this summer.

Mount said that he is very excited to be with the first team. He was with the club since he was six and had always looked forward to join the team.

Chelsea is currently slapped with a transfer ban, forcing them to maximize all resources they have on hand following the departure of Eden Hazard recently.

With Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek already on their list, Chelsea needs to focus their attention to Bayern Munich’s target Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Bundesliga club is reportedly eyeing Hudson-Odoi, and with the transfer embargo in effect, Chelsea may have convince Hudson-Odoi some more to stay at Stamford Bridge.
