Nicolas Pepe Opts To Play For PSG If Neymar Leaves
Nicolas Pepe is highly expected to leave Ligue 1 side, LOSC Lille this summer with several clubs battling for his services.
However, the Lille winger is reportedly ready to hold out and agree to move from Lille to Paris Saint-Germain, if Neymar leaves.
Premier League giants, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the European clubs who are keen to acquire the 23-year-old forward. Arsenal is also one of the many European teams rumored to be chasing Pepe’s signature. However, it is believed that Pepe wishes to remain in France, and PSG is said to be his preferred option.
As reported by Le10 Sport, the wily Ivory Coast international will be PSG’s perfect choice to fill the void if Neymar leaves the French capital. The Brazilian superstar is said to be aching to leave PSG, which would leave the club in dire need of an attacking reinforcement to help Kylian Mbappe.
Pepe found the back of the net 22 times and had 11 assists in Ligue 1 last season. His stellar performances made him one of the most in-demand players on the continent.
Pepe is in Egypt for the African Cup of Nations. Ivory Coast defeated South Africa 1-0 for their opening win. They will also face Morocco and Namibia in the elimination round.
