According to a report from an Italian newspaper, Roma have reportedly set their eyes on Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.

II Tempo said that the Italian giant are looking at the possibilities of acquiring Granit Xhaka from Arsenal. Roma’s sporting director, Monchi is said to be working with several links in order to reach a transfer on the best doable conditions.

But it is still unknown if the Premier League club are willing to let go of their midfielder. The Swiss international joined the English club from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2016.

The Giallorossi are also eyeing another midfielder, Sevilla’s Steven Nzonzi. But the negotiations for the French midfielder suffered a huge setback when Barcelona joined the race. The Spanish giants reportedly offered Nzonzi a much higher salary than what Roma are trying to pay him.

The sporting director said that they are interested in having Nzonzi to their squad but quick to reiterate that the Serie A club are also on the lookout for other players.

He added that Nzonzi is just one of the names that there are considering but is not the only one nor is he the closest. Monchi also said that he likes the French international but he also like other players as well and not everyone can come to the Stadio Olimpico.
