According to the Spanish news outlet, Mundo Deportivo, one Spanish club is interested in getting the services of the Besiktas and Croatia defender. Sevilla have reportedly turned their heads to Vida after failing to sign Duje Caleta-Car, who is close to moving to Marseille from Red Bull.
Domagoj Vida was one of the stand-out stars of Croatia during the last 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The centre-back made stellar performances during their World Cup campaign which saw their team reach the finals against the eventual champion, France.
Despite their 4-2 finals loss against France, Vida’s outstanding performances throughout the tournament have impressed and turned the heads of several top English clubs which includes Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham.
With Sevilla in the running, things are becoming even more interesting as the bidding war is set to ensue between interested clubs for the resiliency of the 29-year-old Croatian. Many clubs are now looking to sign Vida who is known for his hard working nature and can provide the much needed defensive reliability. His reputation in defense was further enhanced during the recent World Cup.
The Croatian international was also the man of the match in their semi-final game against England which they won 2-1.
