According to the German news portal, Bild, Thiago Alcantara is not part of the plan of the new Bayern Munich manager, Nico Kovac.
The report said that the Spanish midfielder is not in the plans of the new head coach and that the German club may have to offload him. Bayern are said to release Alcantara together alongside five star players, Jerome Boateng, Juan Bernat, Sebastian Rudy and Arturo Vidal.
The report came in the middle of a buzz that the midfielder is being lured by several clubs which includes Manchester City and Barcelona.
Manchester United is said to be interested in Alcantara as well, as they keep up their chase for a new midfielder. This is perhaps after Jose Mourinho’s side missed out on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and rumours of a possible transfer of Paul Pogba.
The Spanish midfielder has allegedly asked to leave the Bundesliga club, in favour of a move somewhere else. Alcantara is keen on leaving Bavaria but the German club need teams to bid for the midfielder and free him from the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich however is optimistic that the rush of panic buying in the Premier League could trigger late offers.
The Spanish international is valued at €60 million and has a live contract with the club until the summer of 2021.
