Arsenal make approach for RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg. According to footballlondon, Arsenal are ready to sign the Swedish international for a fee of €47 million before he attracts any more attention from other clubs.
Emil Forsberg was called up by Sweden for the FIFA World Cup being held in Russia after having an outstanding season in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig. The Red Bulls had a breakout 2016/17 season putting Forsberg and RB stars on the map, waiting for prestigious clubs to cherry pick. Like Naby Keita who officially signed for Liverpool, Forsberg will be tempted with a move to the Premier League.
Arsene Wenger’s replacement, Unai Emery, is preparing for the 2018/19 campaign with key signings. Similar to Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, Emery and Co. at Arsenal are looking for a key signing as they carefully evaluate Forsberg’s WC performance. Emery must move fast during the transfer window before Forsberg’s value shoots up after Sweden’s opening win, setting up the team with fantastic momentum.
Ironically, Liverpool has also been heavily linked with a move for Emil Forsberg after the failed signing of Nabil Fekir from Lyon which was all but done. Liverpool has recently been given some hope in signing Fekir, giving Arsenal the perfect window to make a move.
