Fabianski close to becoming West Ham player
Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is close to joining West Ham United this summer, according to Sky Sports sources. The Polish international who is currently playing for Swansea City has a year left on his contract at the Liberty Stadium.
Due to the Swans relegation to the Championship, it appeared likely that the player would move on this summer and look to join a current Premier League side. West Ham has shown interest in the last few weeks with their first offer rejected but it appears negotiations are ongoing between the two clubs. The club currently has Joe Hart and Adrian, who both struggled for form last season for the Hammers
West Ham won’t stop their Swansea raid there though as they have also been recently linked with Centre half, Alfie Mawson. Their recent bid was rejected however newly appointed gaffer Manuel Pellegrini remains determined in his pursuit of both Fabianski and Mawson to improve their defence for the new season.
The Hammers will face tough matches against Arsenal and Liverpool in their first three matches of the new PL season so will desperately want to improve that backline that conceded the joint-most goals (68) last season along with Stoke City. Mawson and Fabianski will no doubt go towards achieving that objective.
