A.S. Roma is close to a deal with Ajax for winger Justin Kluivert. Sky Sports Italy is reporting the Giallorossi will bring him “into the capital for a figure that should be around 18 million euros plus bonuses”.
Kluivert would be the perfect signing to compete for the number 11 position, currently occupied by 29-year-old Diego Perotti. The Dutch international also allows for tactical flexibility for Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco, as Perotti plays wider and crosses more into the box.
The 19-year-old is a prototypical winger who can dribble and cut-inside towards the goal; his agility and impressive ball-handling skills allow him to separate from defenders and put shots on goal. With 36 appearances this past season, he scored ten goals and had five assists all while totaling an 86.7% pass success rate (via Who Scored).
Kluivert would be the fourth addition to the Roma side that made it to the Champions League semi-final. Roma has bolstered their midfield throughout the summer transfer window and, so far, have been able to ward off Liverpool and Real Madrid for their highly-rated goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Early Sunday morning, AS Roma English tweeted a photo of their previous three summer signings along with a translucent fourth, oddly similar to a famous Justin Kluivert celebration.
Roma is looking to capitalize on all their success this past season so don’t expect Roma’s Director of Football to be finished after this deal is finalized.
