Manchester City are reportedly eyeing up a move for Jean Michael Seri from French side Nice, according to The Mirror. The Ivorian who plays central midfield in Ligue 1 has recently caught the eye of many PL teams scouting departments.
Seri has a reported price tag of £36 million which is financially viable for a number of teams in the top flight with recent interest not just from City, but from Chelsea, West Ham United and Arsenal.
The Premier League champions would, however, prove a luxurious destination for Seri, who will struggle to turn down the opportunity of playing for a side who are looking to dominate English football across all stages including the Champions League competition.
The move is becoming a priority for the club who are looking to fill the void of recently departed fellow Ivorian Yaya Toure. Their desire to sign Napoli’s Jorginho has been persistent in the last few weeks and there is a general feeling of frustration from City’s perspective at Napoli’s £60 million valuation.
Whilst Jorginho’s future at the Serie A club remains up in the air, City has moved onto other targets in the form of Seri who will prove a cheaper cost-effective target for the club who are in for a busy summer transfer window.
