Olympiakos goalkeeper Proto is approached by Lazio, as they prepare themselves for another successful Serie A campaign. Their aim is to add back-ups in all positions.
After the sale of Marchetti to Genoa following the departure of Mattia Perin, Lazio have been left short handed in between the post. Proto has become a serious target and can earn some minutes at Lazio after they qualified for European football. Thomas Strakosha has enjoyed a strong campaign with Lazio and will be overwhelmed with the amount of games. So, Lazio are ready to pounce on Proto.
Lazio are also looking to add Diego Laxalt and Andre Gomes in case Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is bought out. Being one of their best players, Lazio need to be fast on back-ups before the World Cup takes off. Already having a strong relationship with Genoa, Diego Laxalt has stated that he is open to moving to Rome. Adding to the midfield, Andre Gomes has been made available by Barcelona, although targeted by other European giants including Juventus, it looks like Lazio is also a possible destination for Gomes.
Lazio have revived their side during the 2017/18 campaign adding some spice to the Italian game. Now that more European spots have been handed to the Serie A, more teams have the opportunity to grow and it looks like the time is ticking for all the IPtalian clubs.
