Antoine Griezmann told not to leave Atletico for Barcelona
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann was advised not to move to Barca by his national team coach Didier Deschamps, as reported by Calciomercato.
There have been countless rumours linking the 27-year-old France international with the 2017/18 Spanish league champions Barcelona as they look to bolster their already strong squad, but the French coach is not really enthusiastic about them.
A number of reports have said that Barca could trigger the former Real Sociedad striker’s release clause for only €100 million, which is half of what they should pay before this summer.
He is reported by French outlet RMC to have asked Deschamps for his opinion, only to be told that he risks being overshadowed in Barcelona. But even until right now, the Atleti superstar still remain undecided regarding his future.
Antoine Griezmann made 49 appearances for La Liga side Atletico Madrid last season, managing to score 29 goals while setting up 15 assists. He played such a pivotal role in Atleti’s success both domestically and in Europe as they managed to come out victorious in the UEFA Europa League final against Olympique de Marseille.
