Napoli have replaced their manager Maurizio Sarri with another Italian Carlo Ancelotti, which was confirmed on Wednesday. This has free’d up the aforementioned to join another club, and the general consensus is that will be the recent FA Cup winners Chelsea, despite interest from Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Sarri reportedly wants to take over from current boss Antonio Conte, who is widely expected to be leaving Stamford Bridge. The blues hierarchy have grown frustrated with the Italian’s public negativity and claims that he has not been supported by the club.

Conte will cost Chelsea around £9 million to sack, which they are expected to do. But it appears that they have saved some money on paying any release clause to Napoli for the services of Sarri, who has already been replaced.

The general talk is that Sarri, or in the form of his representatives, will be in London today negotiating terms with Chelsea officials and the puzzle is expected to be complete as a result, with Conte’s departure being officially confirmed.

Conte meanwhile, will take a career sabbatical, meaning that the blues will be paying his wages until the end of his current contract next year.
