Gianluigi Buffon announced in a pre-match press conference that he will stand between the sticks for the last time in a Juventus shirt Saturday in the final Serie A match day against Verona.

Yet, speculations have become louder in recent days, predicting that Buffon will play in the 2018/19 season, but not for Juventus. According to a SkySports, the Italian international fancies East London club, West Ham United.

Buffon’s agent, Silvano Martina, reportedly told The Sun that the 40-year-old “wants two weeks to talk to his family and come to a decision.”

“In England, he always really admired West Ham supporters, and even wrote about it in his book,” Martina told The Sun.

The move would add to the potential reconstruction of the Hammers after the club parted ways with manager, David Moyes, after six months in charge. After SkySports originally reported that Newcastle United boss, Rafa Benitez, would likely replace Moyes, The Hammers have reportedly decided to switch focus to former Manchester City gaffer, Manuel Pellegrini.

In addition to Premier League interest from West Ham, ESPN FC columnist Johnathan Johnson, reported that Paris Saint-Germain have offered Buffon a two-year contract to join newly appointed manager, Tomas Tuchel, at the Parc-des-Princes.

Only time will tell where Gigi Buffon goes next.
