Inter Milan winger Joao Mario will be arriving in London this week, to complete a medical with West Ham ahead of his loan move to the Premier League.

The two clubs have installed a view to buy option in the summer set at £26 million, should the hammers decide to make the loan permanent.

25-year old Mario has gained 31 appearances for Portugal and arrived at Inter back in the summer of 2016, joining them from Sporting Lisbon for £36 million.

Mario is a European Championship winner with Portugal, having helped them win the competition the same summer as he got his big move to Serie A.

But a new chapter is now set for the winger as his agent held productive talks with West Ham and their Manager David Moyes on Wednesday.

Having made 44 appearances for Inter Milan and scoring 3 goals, he has grown increasingly frustrated at his lack of game time under new Manager Luciano Spalletti. This has given him a desire to seek alternative options in order to increase his game time.

Moyes is searching for extra attacking creativity as his side sit mid table in the Premier League, Mario is set to be the clubs first signing of the January transfer window. Mario will certainly be bringing some good experience to the London Stadium as he looks to relaunch his career in England.
