The blues have been working on a deal to sign Roma players Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko since last week, and it now appears that the deal is very close, according to multiple reports.

It seems that the two clubs are nearing an agreement said to be around £45 million, after previously being about £10 million away. But this appears to have been resolved and the two players are set to complete medicals at Chelsea and should be announced by the end of this week.

Former Manchester City striker Dzeko, has had his agent in London the last couple of days seeking game time assurances. Since then it seems that Chelsea have been able to convince the 31-year old to make the move back to the UK.

Left back Emerson was the easier one of the two and agreed terms yesterday, reportedly about to sign a four and a half year contract, worth £42,000 a week.

Both Chelsea and Roma are keen to announce the players as a double deal and now only have the finer details to thin out before they can do this.

Chelsea were rumoured to be having doubts about signing Dzeko due to the price and his age. However, I am yet to hear of any such news and Manager Antonio Conte is very keen to get the Bosnian International signed on.

Dzeko has this morning been pictured loading suitcases into a car, however it has emerged that this may have been his sister, who had been staying with Dzeko, packing up to go back home.

I am hearing that Dzeko might still be involved in Roma’s match tomorrow evening, just until the final details of the deal are figured out and complete.

Likewise Michy Batshuayi could also be involved in Chelsea’s fixture at Arsenal tomorrow, he was offered to Roma on loan as part of the deal, but its unclear whether Roma or the player has accepted this.
