American defender Erik-Palmer Brown to join Manchester City
According to reports, 20 year old American central defender Erik Palmer-Brown has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Manchester City. Palmer-Brown, who currently plays for Sporting Kansas City in North America’s Major League Soccer, is said to be joining Manchester City as soon as his contract expires at the end of their season.
The reports indicate that the young American defender will be signing a four and a half year contract.

Manchester City have been chasing young talent around the world to add to their club’s growing international ambitions, and signing one of the best young defensive talents from North America illustrates those ambitions. Manchester City have beat out Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax, PSV among others to the successful signing of Erik Palmer-Brown.
Palmer-Brown has long been deemed a promising player for quite some time. He spent time last season in Portugal playing for FC Porto’s B squad before moving back to United States. Now, after spending a short time in Europe and a few seasons in Major League Soccer, Palmer-Brown is ready to make the permanent jump to Europe with intentions to stay and make a name for himself.
After establishing himself as a key player in the USA’s 2017 U-20 World Cup squad, he has now turned his attention to becoming a mainstay on the USA’s senior squad and believes a move to one of the top clubs in Europe is the perfect challenge to embark on.
