Juventus have been on the prowl for midfield reinforcements that can upgrade their quality at the center of the field this season. Roma’s 27-year-old Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman has remained at the top of the Turin club’s midfield shortlist of players for quite some time and has been the subject of prior bids.
Despite being strongly linked with Juventus this summer, Juventus have been unsuccessful in reaching a breakthrough and landing the player thus far. However, reports out of Italy are stating that Juventus are not giving up on signing Strootman this transfer window, and have made a new and improved offer in order to land the player before the window slams shut in just a few days time.
Juventus have reportedly offered Roma a fresh bid of €45 million, which they believe will be an amount enough to convince Roma to agree to sell. The negotiations have been difficult between the two clubs so far this summer, which suggests there is no guarantee this amount is one that Roma will accept. But, since Strootman has a release clause valid next summer for the same price of €45 million, Juventus are under the impression this is the exact value Roma are looking for before they are convinced to sell their star midfielder.
