The close of the summer transfer window is fast approaching, with around only two short weeks remaining. Barcelona still have been unsuccessful in their pursuit of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele, and with the clock ticking fast before the transfer window slams shut, Barcelona are ready to hit the panic button and turn to Plan B.

Barcelona have made it absolutely clear that they will replace the void in their attack left by Neymar as well as strengthen their midfield this summer before the transfer window ends. According to multiple reports, Barcelona have identified their two Plan B targets they will focus their attention on if they are unable to wrap up deals for Coutinho and Dembele soon.

OGC Nice’s 26 year old midfielder Jean Micheal Seri and PSG’s 29 year old winger Angel Di Maria are the Catalan club’s two options they will pursue if they have to resort to Plan B. Di Maria is targeted as a direct replacement to fill the gap left by Neymar’s departure and Seri is looked at as a quality addition that will immediately improve the center of the field.

Negotiations to bring Coutinho and Dembele have dragged on much longer than Barcelona originally planned. The Catalan club know they are in a race against time, and Plan B must be triggered immediately so that they have enough time to complete the negotiations for Seri and Di Maria before it’s too late.
