Serie A side Lazio are rumoured to be very close to sealing a deal with Rubin Kazan for Iran international Sardar Azmoun, as reported by Football-Italia.
Several reliable sources in Italy are confident that a deal can be reached for a fee of €18million, which is an improved bid from the €15million plus bonuses offer by Lazio several days before.
The Iran Football Federation has also posted on Instagram stating:
Lazio agreed to pay Rubin Kazan €18m to capture the captain of the Iranian team.
The signing of the contract would make him the most expensive football player in Iran’s history
The negotiations are believed to be progressing very well and could come to a close very soon.
Sardar Azmoun is only 22-year-old but could very well be Iran’s most valuable player for years to come.
The 22-year-old striker has plied his trade in Russia since 2013 with spells in Rubin Kazan and Rostov helping him develop to be one of the most frightening strikers in Russian Premier League.
The Iranian made 41 appearances for Rostov last season scoring 12 goals while providing 3 assists.
Sardar Azmoun could be a rotational player alongside Ciro Immobile, Filip Djordjevic, and Mamadou Tounkara this season for Lazio as they aim to finish in a European spot.
