Galatasaray to fly in for talks with Campbell
Galatasaray representatives are set to fly into London on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the potential signing of Joel Campbell, according to reports.
It’s said, according to the report, that despite featuring heavily for Arsenal this season, Arsene Wenger is still willing to offload the Costa Rican in an attempt to push through the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Alex Iwobi into the first team scene on a more regular basis.
With the Turkish giants believed to be heavily interested in Campbell’s services, the club have sent representative Fatih Isbecer to hold talks with Wenger and the board.
Campbell has spent a number of loan periods away from the club but has begun to settle in at north London this season, making 10 Premier League appearances in the absence of the injured Alexis Sanchez, while notching a couple of goals.
Supporters and experts alike have been heavily impressed with the work-rate the former Olympiacos loanee provides, adding an extra dimension to Arsenal’s efforts both defensively and going forward.
