Saido Berahino has been told to train with the under 23’s after another discipline problem with the former West Bromwich Albion forward according to The Telegraph.

Berahino has not scored a senior goal for two years and Paul Lambert had the striker in the U23 set-up to face Aston Villa, Berahino turned up late to that fixture so Paul Lambert has banished the striker away from the first team as punishment with Stoke keen to keep positive vibes amongst the first team ahead of a relegation dogfight.

Berahino was sold to Stoke by West Brom with then manager Mark Hughes claiming he felt he could turn the career of Saido around after a tough spell at The Hawthorns where he was again disciplined by the club he grew up at. His past lifestyle choices and poor attitude have left many in the Midlands disappointed in a player that once had the makings of a real talent.

Hughes never got a goal out of Berahino with a missed penalty the low light on the pitch of the former England internationals Stoke career. Stoke paid £12 million rising to £15 million for the services of Berahino.

His decision yet again not to tow the club line will leave Paul Lambert a summertime decision on the player, stick or twist?
