Diego Simeone has reportedly given the green light to sell Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco this January, according to The Guardian.
Simeone is ready to give up on the 24-year-old with Bayern Munich leading the race for the signature of Carrasco with a host of Premier League clubs also interested in him.
The Belgium winger has fallen down the pecking order with the Argentine manager now opting to keep Vrsaljko and sell Carrasco as both parties remain to see if an offer, which will tempt both the player and the club, will come in this upcoming window.
If Atletico cannot sell the 24-year-old then Diego Simeone will look to use him as an impact sub in the second half of the season but he will struggle to get in the first team with the summer signing Vitolo now able to play for them.
The Spanish Giants are also looking to offload striker Luciano Vietto and winger Nicolas Gaitan as they look to get rid of the deadwood in the team as Atletico are prepared to challenge for the title.
