Costa has no plans to return to Chelsea
Chelsea forward Diego Costa has no plans to return to the club, even though he had been named in the Champions 25-man squad for the already underway Premier League season, report The Telegraph.
Costa missed out on a deadline day move to his former club Atletico Madrid, after the clubs failed to come to an agreement, meaning the forward is going to have to remain at the club until January, at the very earliest.
The Blues want the Spaniard to report back to Cobham to start training after he has been away in Brazil for the whole pre-season, having a great time.
But with Chelsea including him in their squad for the new season, it shows they ‘want’ him back, and if he doesn’t return, he will be breaching his contract, and could be faced with further fines.
However, Chelsea may not be putting him in the Champions League squad for either one of two reasons. The first one being that he won’t be cup tied, allowing him to play in the competition if he departs in January to a team still in the competition, or that the linked club Atletico are in the same group as Chelsea, and they don’t to get involved with another fiasco/
Either one, Costa’s feeling towards the club hasn’t changed and whatever they do from now on won’t make a difference to him unless they let him leave. Still, he may still be furious at the club after his departure, who knows.
