The 23-year-old Brazilian right-back come defensive midfielder looks set to leave French champions Monaco this transfer window to join football giants Paris Saint-Germain who continue their spending spree in an attempt to reclaim the Ligue 1 title this season and fight for the Champions League Trophy.
Marca understand that the former Real Madrid Academy player could cost the Parisian outfit 50 million euros for his services. Having been formerly linked with Manchester United earlier this transfer window it is believed that Fabinho’s desired destination is PSG and that he could be leaving with fellow team mate and teenage sensation, Kylian Mbappe.
Last season Fabinho racked up an impressive 10 goals and 4 assists for Monaco and played a crucial part in their title winning season amassing an 84.5% pass success rate in the league. It is no surprise then that Monaco have pushed for such a high transfer fee and that some fans are not fond of the prospect of letting him go to their French rivals.
This could also aid Tottenham in their pursuit of PSG’s Serge Aurier who looks set to depart to the North London club. With the imminent arrival of Fabinho, this could see the Ivory Coast international joining the Lilywhites for £23 million.
