After Spurs-duo Mauricio Pochettino and Danny Rose have both expressed their frustration of the lack of transfer activity at White Hart Lane, the 21-year-old becomes the first signing of the summer.
The Columbian International has won 2 caps for his country and standing at 6’2 with a strong physical style of play, he will be a key asset for set-pieces, scoring 6 goals in 43 appearances in Holland’s Eredivisie
Sanchez excelled his career further in the 2016/17 campaign seeing Ajax land second in the league and only fall in the Europa League to Manchester United in the Final. Following this he saw himself being linked to the likes of Barcelona. Ultimately this is not the first time Sanchez has been on the Catalan Club’s radar, in 2016 the centre-back had a bid accepted from Barcelona, however chose Ajax as his new home due to the lure of first-team football.
Now in London, it’s unlikely new team-mate Danny Rose will have to search for Sanchez on Google to discover who he is. However, this does seem like the door opening further for Kevin Wimmer reported departure to West Brom.
