According to reports from the Mirror, Watford are close to agreeing a season long loan deal with option to buy for Benfica’s 26 year-old Peruvian winger Andre Carrillo. According to the reports, Watford’s new manager Marco Silva is pushing for a move to bring in Andre Carrillo on loan due to his familiarity, as the pair have worked together previously as manager and player at Sporting Lisbon.
Watford have already brought in a number of players this summer to assemble a squad capable of challenging for a competitive finish in the Premier League. Now, Watford’s manager Marco Silva sees Andre Carrillo as one of the final pieces of the puzzle to complete the squad before the summer transfer window closes, and believes the Peruvian winger would be the perfect addition to add in their attacking options.
Negotiations are still set to continue in the coming days, with a few minor kinks expected to still be ironed out. But, a completion of the deal that has Carrillo moving to England is on the horizon.
How Carrillo adjusts to the Premier League is still unknown as he only has prior playing experience in Peru and Portugal. Carrillo first started his playing career in his native Peru before moving to Portugal in 2011 to join Sporting Lisbon and then moving to Benfica in 2016.
