According to the daily mail, Tottenham are interested in signing Ajax’s defender Davinson Sanchez for a reported £35 million transfer fee.

Spurs are hopeful they can get a cheaper deal for him than the £35 million Ajax currently value the 20 year old Colombian at. However, if Tottenham are unable to meet Ajax’s initial demands in the negotiation process, Tottenham are said to be willing to continue their pursuit of the player and work out anything that can get a reasonable deal over the line.

The Colombian Davinson Sanchez is reported to want a move to the Premier League, which would afford the central defender the chance to join one of the best defences in the league. Despite heavy interest from Tottenham, Sanchez is also being linked with a few other big clubs such as Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The Eredivise club from Amsterdam do not want to lose their Colombian defender and are reportedly prepared to break their wage cap in order to keep him. They are prepared to offer him a new contract worth £60,000 a week to fend off the links from Spurs.

This weekend Ajax have left Sanchez out of the starting lineup due to speculation about his future, which could be a positive sign for Tottenham in their pursuit of the defender.
