The Premier League outfit have been looking for full-backs all summer and Cancelo is another one on their list to try and potentially sign.
According to MailSport, Tottenham are also targeting the defender.
Chelsea previously looked at Cancelo when he was playing in the Under 21 European Championships, and the interest has arisen once again.
This comes after the Telegraph reported that Paris Saint Germain have decided to list their right-back Serge Aurier on the transfer market, who has enticed interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United.
Aurier joins the extensive list of full-backs in who Chelsea are after, joining the likes of Alex Sandro, who is their main target from Juventus however the deal looks highly unlikely after Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said after their defeat to Tottenham that Sandro was not for sale.
There is no chance of Chelsea target Alex Sandro leaving this summer.
Chelsea missed out on three full-backs to Manchester City this summer. Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy, and Danilo. Chelsea looked set to buy Danilo from Real Madrid, however Pep Guardiola tempted the Brazilian away from London.
With Antonio Conte becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of movement in recent weeks, it seems as though Chelsea will eventually start to bring in more names, and Cancelo could be one of them.
He was linked with a move to Juventus however if they don’t sell Alex Sandro, then they will not need him, which could open the door for Chelsea to sign the Portuguese international.
