29-year-old winger Nicolai Muller could be leaving for free next summer and Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe has warned their Bundesliga rival of the fact, according to Inside Futbol.
The pacey winger is wanted by Premier League clubs West Ham and Southampton, but several other clubs including Bundesliga rival Wolfsburg are also rumoured to be interested in signing him.
But Hamburg are persistent that they are against selling the winger and are keen to convince the 29-year-old winger to sign a new contract with the Bundesliga club who finished 14th last season.
But their stubbornness could fire back as their star player could well be leaving for another club on a free transfer, which definitely isn’t the best deal that they can get.
Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe has expressed interest in signing Hamburg winger Nicolai Muller and has also stated that he is the player that he likes.
An interesting player
Rebbe was quoted as saying by German magazine Kicker.
Next year he would be free of charge,
Wolfsburg would prefer to get the winger this summer but will be ready to wait if Muller sees out his contract. But as for right now, the Bundesliga club are trying to look for alternatives as Hamburg showed no signs of softening their stance. It remains to be seen if West Ham and Southampton have followed Wolves in moving on from the winger.
