Who is Tottenham target Juan Foyth?
It has been a very quiet transfer window so far for Tottenham with only rumour players potential coming in. However, over the past week Tottenham have been linked with Argentina wonderkid, Juan Foyth, who has reportedly rejected interest from Roma and Russia to sign for Spurs, according to the Daily Mirror.
This is what Foyth told a local radio:
“I found out about Tottenham’s interest through social networks. I would like to play in Europe, if something comes up that convinces me and the club I will go,” he told Radio Continental
“I know that my agent and Veron are going to travel over to deal with the Tottenham issue. I am feeling relaxed, on the outside of things.
Who is Juan Foyth?
Age: 19
Position: Centre Back, Defensive Midfielder
Nationality: Argentina
Current Club: Estudiantes de La Plata
2016/17 Appearances: 4
International Level: Argentina Under 20
The central defender is not the tallest as he is just 6ft tall almost 5ft 11inches. He made his breakthrough into the first team last year and signed his first professional contract which runs out in 2019. The 19 year old only made 630 minutes worth of football last season.
The young centre back put in a disappointing display at the Under 20 World Cup for Argentina but his performance at home has caught the eye of many clubs.
Tottenham are not the only team interested in the young defender as it has been reported the Roma were looking at him to replace Rudiger. Also, Russian giants, Zenit St Petersburg, were also looking at the defender.
Spurs want Foyth to replace Kevin Wimmer, who is reportedly frustrated a lack of playing time and wants to leave.
