Lazio want Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva
The 30 year old Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva’s 10 year career at Liverpool may finally come to an end this summer. Lucas Leiva’s remaining time at Liverpool has drawn a lot of rumors over the past few months, and now there looks to be some substance to those rumors. According to reports in Italy, Italian club Lazio are turning their attention to Lucas Leiva and are ready to launch the negotiations for a transfer.
According to the reports, Lazio’s star midfielder Lucas Biglia looks set to leave the club for Milan. This departure leaves a big gap in their midfield, and Lazio have identified Leiva as one of their primary targets to fill that hole as a capable replacement.
Lazio look likely to pocket a hefty €20 million in selling Lucas Biglia to Milan. While the negotiations for bringing Lucas Leiva to Lazio are still in the beginning stages, Lazio aim to allocate a good portion of that money gained in the Biglia sale to fund the incoming move for the Brazilian midfielder.
Lucas Leiva has always been known as a tenacious midfielder with a high work rate and would look certain to bring these traits as well as a wealth of experience to Lazio if the move materializes in the coming days.
Leiva coincidentally holds an Italian passport himself, and may be willing to take on a new challenge in his footballing career while he still has a few years left in the tank.
