Ever Banega is returning to Sevilla
According to reports from Football Italia and MARCA , both Sevilla and Inter Milan have agreed that Argentine midfielder Ever Banega will be leaving Inter Milan and returning back to Sevilla after just one season with the Milan club. Banega, who left to Inter Milan from Sevilla as a free agent last season, didn’t quite make the impression he was hoping for in midfield at the Italian club, so is now heading back to the club he came from.
Banega spent two seasons at Sevilla from 2014-2016 and established himself as a critical player at the Spanish club under former coach Unai Emery. Now, the Argentine midfielder is set to pen a new three year contract with Sevilla in his return.
Ever Banega has been attracting interest from other clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, but Sevilla have won the race in the €9 million deal, with only a successful medical standing in the way of the deal’s completion. Although the midfielder is reported to take a decent pay cut in order to return to his former club, he will reportedly still be one of the highest paid players on the Sevilla roster. With the big World Cup showcase just one summer away, Banega needs all the playing time he can get in order to be a contender for Argentina’s team selection, and returning to a club he previously excelled at might be the right move for his career sake.
In other Sevilla news, the club are close to completing the signing of Luis Muriel from Sampdoria.
