Inter Milan want veteran Brazilian midfielder Gustavo
Inter Milan’s city rivals AC Milan have been the team making all the noise in the early stages of the summer, but Inter Milan don’t plan on staying quiet much longer. Reports from Football Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that new Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has picked 29-year-old veteran Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo, who currently resides in the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg, as the number one on his wish list for holding midfielders.
AC Milan have shown huge ambition this summer, as reported by TNC but now it is the turn of city rivals Inter to get in on the act after being reportedly signing defender Antonio Rudiger from Roma despite interest from Chelsea.
The only thing understood to be standing in the way of this deal’s completion is Inter Milan’s obligation to pay €30m in order to satisfy the Financial Fair Play’s demands. Once this duty is soon met, Inter Milan plan on moving swiftly for the powerful midfielder, as contact between representatives from both clubs are underway.
Gustavo has played for VfL Wolfsburg since first joining in 2013 from dominant German powerhouse Bayern Munich. He has went on to make 142 appearances across all competitions for the club, and was a key figure in the Brazil squad during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
