CHELSEA UPDATE

Chelsea may be the busiest club on the deadline day as they literally target everyone and anyone at this point. Here’s a breakdown of the current situation:

Defence

  • Marcos Alonso of Fiorentina is currently at Cobham undergoing his medical and finalising a move to the London side. He should be announced shortly.
  • Chelsea are still negotiating a move for PSG defender David Luiz. The player is keen on returning to Stamford Bridge but the Parisian side want to find a replacement before selling him.
  • At the same time, Chelsea are in talks to sign Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour on a loan deal with an option of a permanent move according to English and French reports.

Midfield

  • French publication L’Equipe report that Chelsea are prepared to hijack Tottenham’s move for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko. Newcastle earlier today rejected a €25m offer from Spurs as they seek a fee of €30m – a fee Chelsea are prepared to pay. No bid has been yet as negotiations begin.
  • It’s believed that James Rodriguez will be remaining at Real Madrid, as Chelsea believe his value has considerably dropped from the €70m fee the Spanish club are asking for. Chelsea were willing to sign him on a loan deal with an option to sign but Real Madrid are not interested in any move of that sort. James’ agent Jorge Mendes is still trying to negotiate a move for his client out of Madrid as he’s very unhappy.
  • Chelsea were keen on signing Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan and are still hoping for a move, but the Italian side are offering him a lucrative contract offer. His agent is trying to negotiate a move to Chelsea and a deal may not be completed in time (which is why Chelsea have entered negotiations for Sissoko as an alternative.

Departures

  • Juan Cuadrado is set to join Juventus on a loan deal worth €5million with an obligation to sign for €20m (after a certain number of appearances).
  • AC Milan were interested in a possible move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, but a move is unlikely to happen with the player remaining at the club.

Competition for Craig Dawson? West Brom closing in on Allan Nyom from Premier League rivals Watford for around £3 million.

Liverpool signing nobody today according to TalkSPORT. So yeah, Liverpool fans, if you want to close down the browser we understand. Although, you might sell. Sakho an obvious wanted man.

Albert Adomah is close to sealing his switch from ‘Boro to Aston Villa despite late pressure from Derby for the winger. Sounds like Middlesbrough will now be in the market to replace the wide man.

Sounds like Sunderland will be paying £4 million for Steven Naismith, good price?

Various reports linking Jack Wilshere to Roma, he was set to join Bournemouth with Arsene Wenger keen to see the midfielder get game time but the Italians have come in late on to give Arsenal a headache. Wilshere

Swansea City have opened talks to sign Enner Valencia on a loan deal from West Ham according to BBC

Sunderland looking to get Jay Rodriguez deal done, West Brom looked earlier in the week but looks unlikely now:

Solid addition.. Guesses on a postcard!!

Interestingly. If West Brom (or anyone else!) want to sign William Carvalho the release clause is MUCH higher than many national outlets claim. This is the statement Sporting Lisbon put out in February when he agreed a new deal with the club. In pounds it works out at £38.1 million.

Mail: Spurs want to sign Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin a deal looks unlikely at the moment

West Brom probably didn’t think this through with McManaman one of the most hated men on Tyneside for THAT knee high tackle. Newcastle confident Sissoko can be brought back into the team if he stays. Baggies getting desperate?

Jack Wilshere’s potential loan deal could see a frantic end with Crystal Palace eyeing up Everton’s James McCarthy if they miss out on the England international Chris Brunskill/Getty Images Sport

West Brom are keen to add faces today with Tony Pulis targeting at least four new players in with a couple of outgoings at The Hawthorns.
