Stoke City are expected to be in for a busy deadline day, with the club reportedly ready to complete at least 3 deals today.

The first deal has already been completed, with Ivorian hitman Wilfried Bony joining the Potters on a season-long loan from Manchester City. The midlands club has been desperate for consistent goal scorer for years and in Bony, Stoke have certainly found that, provided they can coax out of him the same form that he showed at Swansea.

The second incoming signing is another loan move, this time for Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi. The Dutch international is currently with the club undergoing his medical ahead of joining the club for the remainder of the season.

The Potters have been desperate for a consistent partner for club captain Ryan Shawcross and in Martins Indi, they have not only found Shawcross’ perfect foil, but they could have ade one of the defensive signings of the summer.

The final signing for now is yet another loan deal. Derby goalkeeper Lee Grant has joined Stoke until the end of the season. The move has surely been influenced by Jack Butland’s latest injury setback and Mark Hughes’ lack of faith in Jakub Haugaard who was less than convincing when he played in Butland’s place last season. Grant comes in as back-up for Shay Given while Butland is sidelined so it is difficult to argue against the move.

Stoke have been quietly efficient on this deadline day, fixing three key issues in their squad early on with shrewd additions. Stoke city fans should be delighted by their business so far on deadline day, even if there are no more arrivals.
