Janmaat becomes 8th summer signing for Watford
Daryl Janmaat has made the move down south to join Watford, the club have confirmed. The right back has joined the Hornets on a four-year contract from Newcastle United, for a reported fee of £7.5 million.
Janmaat has been the centre of much speculation this summer, with West Ham United and Napoli both showing an interest in the defender. The Dutchman, who has appeared 27 times for the national team, has racked up an impressive 10 assists during his time in the North East since joining from Dutch heavyweights PSV, according to Opta:

The defender links up with Watford as the club take their spending to above £40 million this summer, in a window with has already seen Isaac Success and Roberto Pereyra join the club for hefty fees.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are looking to replace the void left by Janmaat with American right back DeAndre Yedlin. The defender attended Newcastle’s 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night in the run up to a medical ahead of a £5 million move to the Magpies. Yedlin, 23, spent last season out on loan to bitter rivals Sunderland, playing 23 times and notching up just one assist as he participated for the USA in the Copa América in the close season.
