Leicester in the hunt for Gabriel Barbosa
Current Barclays Premier League champions Leicester City are set to battle it out with several other European heavyweights for the services of Brazilian forward Gabriel Barbosa. Football Italia suggests Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus aswell as Spanish Champions Barcelona are all in the hunt for the exciting prospect.
Despite losing N’Golo Kante to Premier League rivals Chelsea, Leicester have showcased a determination to add further quality to their attack. Even with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez in sensational form last season, Leicester’s attack has improved further and now has impressive depth through their signings of Ahmed Musa and Bartosz Kaputska. The signing of Gabriel Barbosa would help to even further strengthen Leicester’s squad and give them three new attacking players who not only provide quality but also several years of football ahead of them with Musa at 23 the oldest of the three.
Already a Brazil international, the reported 27million euros (£23million) fee to buy Barbosa would appear to be money well spent for a player who will only get better in the next few years. While a deal for Gabriel Barbosa is still yet to be completed, their attempt to buy such as a valuable youngster demonstrates that Leicester’s owner and manager alike are determined to backup last season’s success with another good season. Exciting times lie ahead for Leicester fans
