Manchester United youngsters sign contract extensions
After having shined in their debut season at Old Trafford, youngsters Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have recently signed a contract extension with the Red Devils that will keep them at the club till 2020 with an option of further extension on legal terms. Rumours of this news had started to circle around yesterday but the club made an official announcement was made today.
The extension may have come as a surprise to some of the critics of the Red Devils’ newly appointed boss Jose Mourinho as he has had a rapport of investing in the recruits in the transfers instead of making it work with the youth. Although Borthwick-Jackson didn’t have any major impression like Rashford did, the fans would be really pleased to see that Mourinho has taken his initial steps in keeping pace with the club’s heritage of youth history. In an official statement released by the club, this is what the young defender had quoted –
I have grown up at United and have enjoyed every minute of being here. Last season was an incredible experience to make my first team debut and a dream come true for myself and my family. I feel it stands me in good stead for continuing my development as a Manchester United player. I will continue to work hard and take advice from the manager and his coaching team to improve with every training session.

Last season saw a couple of names from the United youth academy making their first team debuts in which was the last term of Louis van Gaal’s reign at the helm. 18-year-old sensational forward Marcus Rashford stood apart from all of the flock in getting regular call ups for the first team. Rashford was delighted with the decision and these were his comments –
