Francesco Guidolin wants time-out rule
Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin has called for the Premier League to consider allowing “one or two” time-outs in matches for managers to get information across to players.
The idea of a time-out has never really been championed before by managers or players with other pressing issues such as replays and video evidence usually where the talking of a rule change starts and stops.
Guidolin took charge of Swansea last season when Garry Monk was relived of his duties and Guidolin steered the Swans to Premier League safety and the South Wales Evening Post have published quotes from the manager highlighting his desire to have a time-out.
I would like to introduce a time-out for managers, one or two.
The possibility to communicate with the players in the game, it would be great to do this.
Many fans are split on the use of video replays because of the stoppage of the game, the loss of the flow is something that fans are not keen on so it is unlikely that the idea of a time-out will be taken on board by the Premier League.
