Saul Niguez could be set for a big money move to Manchester United this summer, with the Independent quoting reports from Don Balon that they’re set to make a £31 million move for the Atletico Madrid man this summer. United are tipped for another summer of rebuilding, especially given that as it stands they look set to miss out on Champions League football this year having regained their place in the top four last season.

The Manchester side may aim to make a move for Saul as soon as the transfer window opens, but it remains to be seen whether this target is one of the club’s, or one of Louis van Gaal’s. Indeed, the Dutch manager may not still be in the dugout for the advent of the new season, which could lead to The Red Devils pulling out of any deal to sign the Atletico midfielder.

Saul has made fairly regular appearances for his team since he returned from a loan at Rayo Vallecano in the summer of 2014, turning out 48 times in La Liga since then. However, the report from Don Balon states that the 21-year-old is unhappy in the Spanish capital, and may look for a move away. This comes a little over two months after he admitted he wanted to stay at the Vicente Calderon for the rest of his career.

The Spanish youth international has netted four goals for La Liga’s second-placed team this season, and could play a vital role in a rejuvenated Manchester United team next season, be it under Van Gaal or Jose Mourinho.
