Premier League duo send scouts to watch Italian striker
Two Premier League sides, Crystal Palace and Swansea City, are interested in signing Italian international striker Stefano Okaka from RSC Anderlecht, according to a report from Belgian outlet Voetbal Nieuws.
The striker only joined Anderlecht and he has been impressive in his first season in Belgium, scoring 10 goals in 24 league appearances. He’s also scored two goals in seven Europa League ties as the Belgian’s have advanced to the last 32, where they currently hold a 1-0 first leg lead over Olympiacos.
According to the report, both Palace and Swansea have been watching the former Sampdoria man and both has scouts in attendance when he played the final 30 minutes of Anderlecht’s 1-0 defeat to Waasland-Beveren.
Voetbal Nieuws also report that both clubs will send representatives to watch the second-leg of their Europa League tie in Greece this week.
It makes sense for Palace to be looking for a new striker with the futures of Emmanuel Adebayor, Fraizer Campbell and Dwight Gayle still uncertain and maybe the Italian international is the man Alan Pardew will turn to.
