Baggies try to get five players tied down at The Hawthorns
West Bromwich Albion have opened contract talks with five players as Tony Pulis looks to tie down players at The Hawthorns ahead of a busy summer in the West Midlands.
Albion look close to agreeing a new three-year-deal with defender Craig Dawson say the Telegraph, he joined West Brom from Rochdale as a central defender under Roy Hodgson but struggled to find a place in the side until Alan Irvine arrived in B71, however, Pulis has seen Dawson as a right back for the last 13 months.

Two other defenders are also in talks about a new deal with Jonas Olsson and Gareth McAuley both with contracts running down and both favourites of Pulis who has come under large criticism from Albion fans with a lack of shots on target this season.

Twitter: I love Gareth McAuley, but at 36 they’re looking to extend that? (@gavin_poulton)
The Hawthorns faithful will be pleased to hear James Morrison is in contract talks, many describe him as the only creative player in a very work man like midfield. Morrison has been at West Brom for eight seasons, the Scottish international has become part of the furniture at WBA becoming a fan favourite with many hoping he gets to a testimonial year in the West Midlands.
Twitter: Of all 5 of those players in talks I hope Mozza’s the top priority. (@ehayward93)
The final player Albion are in talks with is Stephane Sessegnon, the Benin international was initially frozen out by Tony Pulis, the Welshman unhappy with the former Sunderland man’s work rate. He has worked his way back into the plans of Pulis however and is now keen to extent his spell at The Hawthorns
Twitter: Mozza, Dawson and Sess are definitely three players worth keeping not sure about the other two wouldn’t be looking to keep both #wba (@Martw90)
Twitter: Anyone else think Sess’s return to form has coincided with him having 6 months left on his deal? I don’t buy it myself #wba (@tomwba1982)
