According to French publication L’Equipe, Barcelona have agreed a six-year contract with Schalke’s Leroy Sane, and are willing to meet the €37 million release clause in his contract.
The 20-year-old is one of the most highly rated young attacking talents in world football, therefore it’s no surprise he’s been linked with a host of top clubs across Europe including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool, but the Catalan club appear to have won the race for the German international, and it’s expected he’ll sign in the Summer.
When the move to the La Liga champions is confirmed, Sane would be in competition with arguably the best attacking trio in the world in Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, but given time could reach his potential and become the next sensation at the Camp Nou.
Sane has had an impressive campaign so far, contributing four goals and four assists and his club currently sit sixth in the Bundesliga. His impressive form also earned him his international debut last November in a 2-0 defeat against France.
