Steven Caulker wanted on Anfield
Steven Caulker is wanted on Anfield until May according to the Guardian Jurgen Klopp has enquired about the former England international as his defensive crisis hits new heights.
Caulker is on loan at Southampton at the moment but the defender is struggling to get regular game time at St. Mary’s leaving the door possibly open for another club to come in for him should Southampton agree to allow the defender to leave and Queens Park Rangers agree to the loan.
Klopp has approached QPR over a possible deal, until the end of the season, with many of his defenders sidelined with mainly Hamstring injuries but the German also has knee injuries and Kolo Toure is suffering from cramp.
Liverpool managed a draw against Exeter in the FA Cup on Friday night with mainly a youth side out, Jose Enrqiue was forced into playing a central defensive role with Christian Benteke handed the captaincy in a very youthful squad to preserve energy ahead of Premier League fixtures and also avoid injury.
Caulker was tipped for big things after breaking onto the Premier League scene with Cardiff City before then joining Queens Park Rangers who suffered relegation leaving the defender now on loan at Southampton where the 24-year-old has made just three appearances this season.
