With 2015 coming to an end, clubs will be waiting to offer any potential free agents the chance to sign on with them on a pre-contract basis.
Come January 1st, any player whose contract runs out at the end of the season will be able to speak to interested parties ahead of a free summer move.
So, who are the top players who fall into this category?
We’ve made our All-Star Bosman XI from players who are out of contract in the summer. Check it out.
Is there someone we’ve missed? If so, let us know in the comments section below.
(Contract information from Transfermarkt)
Goalkeeper: Samir Handanovic – Inter Milan
The Slovenian shot-stopper is out of contract in the summer, although reports are that he is set to sign an extension in Milan.
He’s kept eight clean sheets in 12 Serie A matches so far this season.
Right Back: Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea
Ivanovic has had a poor season by his standards, but he certainly has the pedigree of a top-class right-back. Chelsea tend not to offer long-term contracts to players over 30, so a longer term deal might tempt him to leave the London side.
Centre Back: Joel Matip – Schalke
Cameroonian international Matip has played 12 games for Schalke so far this season, and has looked impressive.
He’s got a good goalscoring record for a defender too. He’s scored 22 times in 233 games for his club.
Centre Back: Nicolas N’Koulou – Marseille
The 25-year-old defender has played 11 times for Marseille this season and has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Lazio and Liverpool in the summer.
Left Back: Caner Erkin – Fenerbahce
The Turkish international left-back is set to look for a new challenge in the summer, although he is currently nursing an injury.
He’s created three goals in 11 games for Fenerbahce this season.
Right Wing: Sofiane Feghouli – Valencia
Feghouli has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, and at age 25, he could develop into a great player.
The Algerian international has four goals and two assists for Valencia this season.
Defensive Midfield: Mehmet Topal – Fenerbache
Topal is a very accomplished holding midfielder who has been linked with a free transfer to Everton.
The Turkish international might be looking for a move abroad after his car was shot at in August this year.
Midfield: Éver Banega – Sevilla
The 27-year-old midfielder has been linked with almost every top side in Europe, and deservedly so.
A very attacking minded player, he’s scored four goals in 10 games for Sevilla this season.
Left Wing: Ezequiel Lavezzi – PSG
Lavezzi is currently being talked about with regards to a move to Barcelona (because they need another forward apparently!).
The Argentinian has made 12 appearances for PSG this season, however all but two have been as a substitute. He’s likely to look for a move in the summer.
Striker: Charlie Austin – QPR
He might be playing in the Championship, but there’s no denying Austin’s goalscoring ability. He bagged 18 Premier League goals in the 2014/15 season, and at age 26, he’s just coming into his prime.
Speculation of a knee issue seemed to arise in the past summer, but six goals in 12 league games this season shows he still has the ability to put the ball in the back of the net.
He’s been linked with numerous clubs including Aston Villa and Newcastle.
Striker: Zlatan Ibrahimovic – PSG
He might be 34-years-old, but Zlatan can still play. A move to the MLS in the summer looks most likely, but there’s also been talk of a return to Milan.
Nine goals in eight league games this season shows he is still capable of finding the back of the net.
On a short-term deal, Zlatan could be very useful for a number of sides.
