West Bromwich Albion have made Matt Phillips and Charlie Austin high priorities this summer as they look to add the attacking flair that was highly missed in the 2014/15 season especially under Tony Pulis who took the helm at the start of the season.

The reported interest has come from The Guardian with Dominic Fifield reporting on the interest, stating that QPR value the pair highly with a bid of at least £20 million needed to begin negations with the London club, another report from Simon Jones in the Mail suggests that the baggies will bid £22 million for the duo that will add much needed pace and goals to the side that ended the season in strong form against some difficult opposition including a 3-0 win against Premier League champions Chelsea at The Hawthorns.

Now, Pulis wants to make The Hawthorns home for Matt Phillips who is reportedly valued at £7 million at Loftus Road, he would become the second winger to join Albion as James McClean joined from Wigan Athletic last month for £1.5 million. He would become the third winger Pulis has signed for West Brom after Callum McManaman also joined in January from Wigan.

Charlie Austin’s goal scoring form and England pedigree has seen his value shoot up to around £15 million for QPR officials as they look to cash in on their relegated star. A double swoop is possible but Newcastle and West Ham are said to be wanting either both or Austin alone after such an impressive season.

A bid is yet to be lodged for the pairing from any club but Albion are said to be picking up their interest in the pair as they kicked off pre season yesterday. Pulis is now in total control of the transfers incoming and outgoing as Terry Burton (Technical Director) and Mervyn Day (Head of Recruitment) got the boot from B71 leaving scouts to report to Pulis and activity going through the Head Coach, although it seems WBA are slowly going back to the managerial set-up they had under Tony Mowbray and before.
